With some models of Netbook, when you close the lid, you may experience problem with Netbook losing wireless connection and device is disabled, and when you try to reconnect it, it fails. Or you may experience problem that the Netbooks won’t resume from standby mode.

Don’t panic about it or try to fix it by endlessly rebooting the Netbook. This behavior is  caused by the power management setting in the wireless network adapter.

The wireless card has its own power management settings that are independent from Windows power management.

Here are the steps to fix it,

  • Go to Start->Control Panel->System
  • Select the Hardware tab
  • Click the Device Manager button
  • Select Network Adapters-> Wireless Network Adapter
  • Right click and select Properties Select the Advanced tab, then select Power Save Mode and set the value to Off.

Your wireless adapter will work perfectly from now on.
